Manchester City have officially announced the signing of Rayan Cherki from Lyon on a five-year deal. The France attacking midfielder joined from Lyon for £34m (€40m). Signing a five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium and arrived in time for the Club World Cup football.

The playmaker has scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Lyon in the 2024-25 season.

Cherki made his senior France debut in last week’s 5-4 Nations League semi-final defeat to Spain.

The 21-year-old scored and provided an assist after coming off the bench in the 63rd minute of the game.

“This is a dream come true for me, to join a club like Manchester City and have the opportunity to take the next step in my career here is something special.” Cherki said after being unveiled as a City player.

“I’ve worked hard all my life for this. I love the sport and I can’t wait to continue my development in Manchester with Pep and his team.”
